2026 VOTING INSTRUCTIONS

Directors are the governing body of the Association and exercise control of the affairs and funds of the Association. The term of a Director is 3 years. ELECTIONS are an integral part of the ANNUAL MEETING. Extended hours are provided to facilitate elections.

Members may vote for directors by paper ballot or online. There are 9 Director positions to be filled. Seven positions are full 3-year terms, one is for one year, and one is for two years. The 7 candidates receiving the highest number of votes will be assigned 3-year terms; the candidate with the 8th highest vote tally will be assigned a two-year term; and the candidate with the 9th highest vote tally will be assigned a one-year term. You may vote for 9 candidates total including write-in candidates. Ballots that include votes for more than 9 candidates will NOT be counted.

Online and paper ballots are in effect the same. Each ballot includes required eligibility criteria, voter registration, and the list of known candidates as well as space for any write-in nominations from the floor. A list of the known candidates and a brief statement provided by each is located on the eastmorelandPDX.org website and included in the Draft Agenda – also linked from the website. Please review the candidate profiles before voting. The electronic ballot and voting will be available from 7:00 p.m. to midnight on May 21. Ballots that are time-stamped outside this period will not be counted.

The paper ballot will be available to download here on May 14. Paper ballots must be deposited in the supervised ballot drop box in front of Duniway School between 6:30 PM and 9:00 PM on May 21. For those without access to a printer, please email secretary@eastmorelandpdx.org before 5 pm on May 19 to request a paper ballot. (Due to technical difficulties, our Google Voice number is not working). Paper ballots can be delivered on request and will be available at the ballot drop box in front of Duniway School. Write-in Nominations from the floor begins at 7:00 pm and close at 7:10 p.m. on May 21. Nominations from the floor must be completed including endorsements and delivered to the Elections Committee at the ballot drop box in front of Duniway School during the open period. The nominations will be announced during the virtual meeting to those attending. District 4 Coalition (D4C) staff will oversee the elections. The collection and counting of paper ballots and the tally of votes cast online will be supervised, reviewed, certified, and counted by D4C. Results will be made available on the website www.eastmorelandPDX.org as soon as D4C staff complete their process and report results to the ENA Elections Committee and Officers. All are encouraged to use the convenient and secure online voting option to reduce the D4C staff workload.
