2025 VOTING INSTRUCTIONS

In addition to voting for new board members (meet the candidates here), this year's ballot will have an important item we need you to vote on! With the Portland City reorganization as of July 1, 2024 that moved the ENA from the Southeast Uplift Neighborhood Coalition to the District 4 Coalition, the ENA Bylaws need update. ENA members will vote on this in the May 15th election and we will need a 2/3 majority to adopt this measure. For details the election and bylaw changes, click here.

Directors are the governing body of the Association and exercise control of the affairs, funds, and property of the Association. The term of a Director is 3 years. ELECTIONS are an integral part of the ANNUAL MEETING. Extended hours are provided to facilitate elections.

This year, members may vote for directors by paper ballot or online. There are 8 Director positions to be filled. Seven positions are full 3-year terms and one is for one year. The 7 candidates receiving the highest number of votes will be assigned 3-year terms; the candidate with the next highest vote tally will be assigned a one-year term. You may vote for 8 candidates total including write-in candidates. Ballots that include votes for more than 8 candidates will NOT be counted.

Online and paper ballots are in effect the same. Each ballot includes required eligibility criteria, voter registration, and the list of known candidates as well as space for any write-in nominations from the floor. A list of the known candidates and a brief statement provided by each is on the eastmorelandPDX.org website and included in the Draft Agenda – also linked from the website. Please review the candidate profiles before voting. The electronic ballot and voting will be available from 7 p.m. to midnight on May 15. Ballots that are time-stamped outside this period will not be counted. Technical help with on-line voting will be available May 15 from 7 to 10 p.m. at 470.VOTE.ENA (470.868.3362).

The paper ballot will be available to download here on May 10. Paper ballots must be deposited in the supervised ballot drop box in front of Duniway School between 6:30 PM and 9:00 PM on May 15. For those without access to a computer, please call 470.868.3362 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on May 14 to request a paper ballot. Paper ballots can be delivered on request and will be available at the ballot drop box in front of Duniway School. Write-in Nominations from the floor begins at 7:00 and close at 7:10 p.m. on May 15. Nominations from the floor must be completed including endorsements and delivered to the Elections Committee at the ballot drop box in front of Duniway School during the open period. The nominations will be announced during the virtual meeting to those attending. District 4 Coalition (D4C) staff will oversee the elections. The collection and counting of paper ballots and the tally of votes cast online will be supervised, reviewed, certified, and counted by D4C. Results will be made available on the website www.eastmorelandPDX.org as soon as D4C staff complete their process and report results to the ENA Elections Committee and Officers. All are encouraged to use the convenient and secure online voting option to reduce their workload.
