The 22nd Annual Eastmoreland Neighborhood Clean-up event will take place this year between 9am - 1pm on Saturday, September 7. This year’s event will be held in the Reed College Parking Lot at the NE corner of SE Steel and SE 28th. The street address is 5216 SE 28th Avenue - click the (map) link at left. Our goal is to accept as much as possible and minimize what ends up in landfill. We will be accepting a wide range of materials so that residents can responsibly dispose of a number of materials including:
Yard Debris
Waste Wood
Bulk Waste
Scrap Metal
Household waste
Styrofoam (must be clean)
Paper Shredding
Plastic Film and Bubble Wrap
Electronics
Other general debris
This is a great opportunity to get rid of those items in your yard, basement, attic, garage, and elsewhere in your home that are ready for disposal.

ITEM DONATIONS
To help keep as much material out of landfill as possible, we are partnering this year with two great non-profit organizations (The Arc and Community Warehouse) who will accept usable items in good condition. They will reuse or repurpose as much as possible, with the last resort being it will go into the dumpster. Items for donation should be clean, properly functioning, and in good condition. The exception is electronics -- nonworking items will be treated as e-waste, but functioning items can be reused. For a list of the donated goods these organizations will accept, please see the following links:
The Arc -- smaller furniture items and home goods
Community Warehouse -- primarily furniture, including mattresses
Please note that these organizations will triage items, but if they are not accepted by either organization, they will go into the dumpster. We will not have the ability to seek out other recipients, so keep in mind that if you want to ensure your item is donated and not discarded, you may want to explore other options.
If in doubt, bring your item(s) and we'll figure it out at the clean-up.
NOW AVAILABLE CONCIERGE SERVICE
Don’t have the time or ability to bring your disposable items to the clean-up event? No problem. Similar to last year, we are offering a concierge service. You'll just need to leave items needing disposal in your driveway or curbside. We will pick up, deliver to the clean-up site, and dispose of them for you. Please contact Derek at (cleanup@eastmorelandpdx.org or 510-565-8525) to schedule this. There are a limited number of concierge collections, so reserve your spot as soon as possible.
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Please note that we cannot accept any hazardous waste materials or contractor loads. But we are looking into other things we can accept. Questions about what we can or can't accept? Please email us.
The cost is: $40+, depending on load size (or $100+ concierge service). All proceeds benefit ENA.
Want to get involved? We need volunteers. Please reach out to us at cleanup@eastmorelandpdx.org if you’d like to volunteer or have questions about the event.
