PLEASE JOIN US TO REMOVE LESSER CELANDINE FROM THE REED COLLEGE PLACE LINDEN ALLEE
The Oregon Department of Agriculture has long been concerned about the spread of invasive Lesser Celandine, which has been spreading through many Eastmoreland yards and in the Reed College Place (RCP) Linden Allee. Through trial and error, we have determined that manual removal of this admittedly pretty weed is the best way to curb spreading.
Local landscaper Kyle Leslie-Christy of PDX Urban Gardens will join us to demonstrate the best and safest way to remove the entire plant, and organize the volunteers to remove the plant along the seven blocks of the allee.
The goal is to both remove the Lesser Celandine and educate neighbors and friends on how to identify and remove this pest from elsewhere in our neighborhood as well.
Please bring gardening gloves. Gardening tools and buckets will be provided.
